Biljana Kennaway

  • Swiss and UK registered physiotherapist

  • Member of Physio Swiss and Pelvisuisse

  • Member of the Pelvic, Obstetrics and Gynaecological Physiotherapy (POGP) Association

  • Deputy Editor of the Journal of Pelvic, Obstetric & Gynaecological Physiotherapy (POGP)

  • Master Trainer & International Presenter for the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute (APPI).

With my passion for academic research and using the best of the international practices I've seen, I carefully develop specialised and specific programmes that target the best possible rehabilitation and outcomes for my patients in my praxis in Zollikon (ZH), in their home or in the excellent Arcus Praxis in Thalwil.

I also deliver modified Pilates on principles of APPI teaching as a form of movement therapy for the prevention and treatment of many musculoskeletal injuries. The importance of core training and strengthening has been well researched and its positive results documented in many areas that I cover, such as:

  • Spinal Stabilization following an episode of low back pain, neck pain or in postural and structural scoliosis

  • Sports Performance

  • Antenatal preparation/Postnatal rehabilitation

  • Functional pelvic floor rehabilitation and treating incontinence

I run a range of modified Pilates classes at different levels, from beginners to advanced and it is a part of rehabilitation or an adjacent to athletes training. Apart from running Pilates classes, I also run ante and postnatal and continence workshops for patients and educational courses for healthcare professionals.

Awarded the Postgraduate Certificate in Continence, University of Bradford, 2018. Passed with Distinction.

B.Sc (Bachelor Of Physiotherapy) - University of London.
